Loungewear, Sleepwear and Underwear
The Guangzhou Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for loungewear, sleepwear and underwear. The spot check inspected 50 batches of samples; 21 batches were found unqualified.
This spot check was conducted according to the standards GB 18401-2010 "National general safety technical code for textile products", GB 5296.4-1998 "Instructions for use of products of consumer interest - Part 4: Textiles and apparel" and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were label, fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value, AZO, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to perspiration, colorfastness to rubbing and colorfastness to washing.
Primary failed items: fiber content and label.
Leather Products, Cases and Bags
The Administration of Quality and Technical Supervision of Guangdong Province launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for leather products, cases and bags. The spot check inspected 80 batches of samples; 33 batches were found unqualified.
This spot check was conducted according to the standards QB/T 1333-2010 "Handbag and knapsack", QB/T 1618-2006 "Leather belt", QB/T 1619-2006 "Wallet", QB/T 2155-2010 "Traveling case and Trolley bag" and GB 20400-2006 "Leather and fur-Limit of harmful matter". The key items inspected on these samples were shock impact strength, seam strength, label, colorfastness to rubbing (staining), free formaldehyde, belt body tensile strength, belt hole tearing strength, belt buckle occlude strength, belt teeth occlude strength, AZO, durability of draw bar, zipper durability, zipper operability, colorfastness to crocking, drop test, accessories, accessory durability, accessory quality, lock, hardness of aluminum frame, caster durability, ball impact test –hard case, static load for hard case, face cracking test.
Primary failed items: shock impact strength, label, colorfastness to rubbing, seam strength, free formaldehyde.
Outdoor Jackets
The Shanghai Consumer Council launched a comparative test for outdoor jackets. The spot check inspected 40 batches of samples; 4 batches were found unqualified.
The key items inspected on these samples were fiber content, formaldehyde, pH value and water resistance.
Primary failed items: fiber content.
Bedding
The Shandong Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for bedding. The spot check inspected 30 batches of samples; 2 batches were found unqualified.
This spot check was conducted according to the standards GB/T 22797-2009 "Sheet", GB/T 22796-2009 "Quilts, Quilt cover" and GB/T 22843-2009 "Cushion and pillow". The key items inspected on these samples were formaldehyde, pH value, AZO, colorfastness to water, colorfastness to specification, colorfastness to dry rubbing, colorfastness to washing, fiber content and dimensional stability to washing.
Primary failed items: dimensional stability to washing and colorfastness to alkali perspiration.
Student Wear, Children’s Footwear, Leather Bags and Casual Wear
The Shanxi Province Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for student wear, children’s footwear, leather bags and casual wear.

The spot check inspected 14 batches of leather shoes and 8 batches of athletic shoes; 3 batches of leather shoes and 2 batches of athletic shoes were found unqualified.
This spot check was conducted according to the standards QB/T 1002-2005 "Leather shoes", GB/T 15107-2005 "Athletic shoes", GB 20400-2006 "Leather and fur-Limit of harmful matter". The key items inspected on these samples were shoe size, appearance, peeling strength of upper and sole, upper pull out strength, flexing resistance, abrasion resistance of outsole, adhesion of midsole and outsole, attachment strength of heel, formaldehyde and AZO.
Primary failed items: formaldehyde, flexing resistance, abrasion resistance of outsole and shoe size.
Leather Sandals
The Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision launched a special product quality supervision and inspection for leather sandals. The spot check inspected 40 batches of samples; 13 batches were found unqualified.
This spot check was conducted according to the standards GB 28011-2011 "Shanks for footwear", GB/T 22756-2008 "Leather sandals", QB/T 2955-2008 "Casual shoes" and related standards. The key items inspected on these samples were appearance, flexing resistance, abrasion resistance, upper pull out strength, colorfastness to rubbing of lining, size of shank, heel attachment and heel hardness.
Primary failed items: flexing resistance, upper pull out strength, colorfastness to rubbing of lining and size of shank.
